LEE, Phyllis May


Phyllis May Lee, age 66, of Phoenix, was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away on Jan. 31, 2004, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on Dec. 10, 1937, in Los Angeles and grew up in Van Nuys, Ca., moving to Phoenix in 1963. She was a teacher at Gompers Rehabilitation Center for over 20 years. After retirement, she stayed active in volunteering at Lookout Mountain School, traveling, and taking tap dancing lessons. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ron, of 49 years. She is survived by her sister Cherie (& husband Ken) Rigdon; her six children Wendy (& Randy) Britt, Rick, Carol (& Dwight) Klapper, Dennis, Donna (& Mark) Hicks, and Sandy Glover; five grandchildren Dan, Jim, Katie, Kelsey, and Cyanna; along with many nieces, nephews, and other loved ones. Phyllis will always be remembered for her patience, kindness, and beauty. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Valley.
