John Hartin Dies at Clay Center, Kansas
John C. Hartin, who left here a few weeks ago to visit in Clay Center, Kansas, died at that place early this morning, a message to this effect having been received here by Mrs. Henry C. Hartin. The telegram did not state the cause of his death.
Mr. Hartin was one of the pioneers of this district and had lived in Prescott off and on for about 30 years.
He conducted a blacksmith shop here for more than 25 years.
Henry Hartin, his son, received a message Tuesday stating that his father was ill. He left that night for Clay Center, but it is doubtful that he arrived there before his father died.
The deceased is survived by five sons and two daughters, all of whom live in California, except Henry.
It is not known whether the body will be brought here for burial. Mr. Hartin was 81 years old.
