Charles W. Evans, 49, died in Phoenix, Monday, Jan. 24, 1972.
Born in Prescott Aug. 17, 1922, he attended school in Kirkland and served in the Navy during World War II as a boilermaker first class on the aircraft carrier Kwajalenin. He received numerous ribbons and citations during his Navy service.
Survivors include his wife, Lenola, of Prescott, his mother, Elsie, of Prescott, two sisters, Mrs. Jean Sandler, of Prescott and Mrs. Evelyn Roberts of Black Canyon City, and two brothers, A. Ray, of Phoenix and Clarence of Prescott and two step-sons, Robert and James Pirtle, of Prescott.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at Memory Chapel.
Visiting hours will be at Memory Chapel Friday, Jan. 28, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
