Maxine Strid Smith, 88 of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2004 in Houston, Texas. Maxine was born in Ottwa, Kansas on February 4, 1915 to the late William Roy and Edna Claypool McAdams. She is preceded in death by her first husband of 46 years, Arthur E. Strid and her husband of 13 years, Howard D. Smith, 4 Brothers and 3 Sisters. Maxine leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Betty J. Boone of Houston, Texas, Carolyn "Kaye" Strid of Prospect Heights, Illinois, and Clifford E. "Kip" Strid of Clute, Texas; two brothers, Adelbert McAdams and John McAdams; 12 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren. A graveside memorial service for Maxine will be held at a later date at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Published in the Arizona Republic on 2/4/2004.
