MONTANEZ, Ramiro

West Valley View, Avondale, AZ Tuesday, December 06, 2011 Ramiro Montanez, 72, of Avondale died Nov. 24, 2011, in Avondale. Mr. Montanez was born Jan. 1, 1939, in Coahila, Mexico, to Pantaleon and Apolonia. He moved to Arizona in the 1970s, and was a migrant worker and construction worker. He is survived by three daughters, Ninfa Wells of Maricopa, Susana Castillo of Savannah, Ga., and Yesenia Castillo of Phoenix; five sons, Ruben of Phoenix, Jose of Avondale, Adam of Avondale, Orlando of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Zaul of Fresno, Calif.; five sisters, Ninfa, Lilian, Pera, Bertha and Petra; three brothers, Daniel, Marcelino and Pepe; 30 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Dec. 3. The Rev. Fidel Estrada officiated.
