Newspaper Unknown Wednesday, February 22, 1911 AMIABLE WOMAN ENDS LIFE AT SWANSEA Despondent over failing health Mrs. Bailey Edwards, former resident of McCabe, ended her earthly career, Thursday morning, at her home in Swansea by firing a bullet into her brain. Death was instantaneous. Her four children, the oldest a daughter of thirteen years, were witnesses to her tragic end. She will be laid at rest today in the Swansea cemetery. That the rash act was premeditated is attested by several of her intimate friends. She complained much lately of her failing health and is alleged to have said that life had lost its charm and that she would welcome the end. Mrs. Edwards was the daughter of the late Mrs. E. J. Lane of McCabe. She was 34 years old and a native of Arizona. Besides her children of tender age, her husband survives. Mr. and Mrs. Edwards moved last year from McCabe to Swansea, where he secured employment with the Clara Consolidated Gold, Silver and Copper Mining company. Mrs. Edwards was an industrious and lovable woman, enjoying the friendship of a large circle of friends all over the Territory, who will regret to learn of her untimely end, and whose sympathy will go to the grief-stricken husband and motherless little ones in their sad bereavement. ---------------- Note: Mrs. Edwards was the wife of John Bailey Edwards, who she married on Jan. 14, 1895 in Maricopa County, Arizona, and the daughter of James Harlow and Elizabeth J. (Hooper) Lane.
