Diane Helen Giese MacKay, age 77, went to be with her precious Lord early Wednesday, Nov. 23 at My Father’s Retirement Ranch. Diane was born Feb. 28, 1934 in Grand Forks, N.D. She was the daughter of Otto and Helen Giese.
Diane and her family moved to Chicago where she finished her formal education and attended North Park College for two years. She majored in music. Diane married Sanders MacKay and the couple moved to Arizona.
Diane was an accomplished pianist and organist. She taught piano lessons to at least three generations of students in the Wickenburg area. She was instrumental in the establishment of three different churches in Wickenburg - Calvary Baptist, Faith Baptist, and Wickenburg Bible Fellowship. She served as pianist/organist in each of these newly formed congregations. Diane taught a Bible study class on Tuesdays at My Father’s Retirement Ranch. This was one of her greatest passions and pleasures. She also helped support several prison ministries, writing letters of encouragement to inmates.
Diane was preceded in death by her husband Sanders MacKay, her parents Helen and Otto Giese, and her sister. She is survived by her brother-in-law John Stone (Chicago, Ill.); nieces Susan E. Stone (Rock Island, Ill.); and Judy Stone (Chicago, Ill.); and nephew John P. Stone (Crystal Lake, Ill.).
Diane was a very special, caring lady to all that knew her. She was passionate about her Lord, loved the Bible, and faithfully prayed for others. She will be greatly missed, but her greatest desire was to be at home with Jesus.
