GARCIA, Raymond L.

Raymond L. Garcia, 57, departed this life on February 1, 2004. Raymond, also known to his family and friends as "Mony" or "Tin", was born in Phoenix, Arizona on March 23, 1946. He attended Phoenix Union High School where he was an outstanding baseball pitcher during his Sophomore, Junior and Senior year. He went on to graduate high school and obtained a vocational technical degree in auto upholstery in 1964. He worked in his trade until he was diagnosed with an illness in 1974. His unrelenting nature and determination to live life to the fullest, despite the odds, was his most admirable quality. He leaves behind his mother, Mary L. Garcia, his two brothers, Robert and Michael, and many nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred Garcia. Visitation and services were held at Our Lady of Fatima, 1418 S. 17th Ave. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix. Published in the Arizona Republic on 2/5/2004.
