MOORE, April Dawn


April Dawn Moore, 44, was taken from family and friends after a long but valiant fight against cancer on January 28, 2004. She was much loved and will be dearly missed by all those fortunate enough to have known her. The world has lost a loving, generous, witty and genuinely caring person. A pril is survived by her devoted husband of 20 years, Rick, son Aaron, 17, daughter Kim,, 15 and son Kyle, 10. She is also survived by her father Robert Moore (Cheryl), brothers, Robert (Riza), Richard (Donna), Christopher (Stacey) and Patrick Moore, sisters Pandora Miller (Terry) and Carla Houston (Scott). She was pre-deceased by her mother Jan Moore in 1994. Arriving in the world on an early April morning in Carbondale, PA she spent most of her youth in the rural setting of the Catskill Mountains of New York. April moved to Arizona in 1978 where she graduated from ASU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education in 1982. She began her teaching career in Tolleson, AZ in 1983 before moving to Utah in 1986 where she taught in the Jordan School District for 16 years, earning a "Teacher of the Year" award and many more friends in the process. Returning to Arizona in 2001, April resumed her career at the Thomas J. Pappas School for homeles children in Phoenix until her illness forced her to retire. Daughter, mother, wife, sister, teacher and friend, April was all of that and much more. She will always remain in our hearts and minds as a source of inspiration and reminiscent joy. Take good care of her God, she earned it. Special thanks the the staff of East Mesa Hospice Family Care. Memorial service was held at Community Church of New Thought, 5013 E Broadway Rd.
