Gail Ellen Santilli-Gruver (September 7, 1955 - December 6, 2011) Gail Ellen Santilli-Gruver, 56, passed away December 6, 2011 at Olivia White Hospice Home in Flagstaff, Arizona. Gail was born in Canfield, Ohio on September 7, 1955 and graduated from Canfield High School. Following graduation Gail moved to Flagstaff, Arizona to attend Northern Arizona University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology in 1977. Gail completed a Master’s of Science degree in Social Work at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1982. Gail began her remarkable career as a social worker and child advocate in 1978 for Bi-State Social Services in Window Rock, Arizona. Her career also included employment at Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital, a private practice counseling service in Flagstaff, Flagstaff Medical Center, and Flagstaff Unified School District. Gail will be remembered as an outstanding forensic interviewer, child therapist, community organizer, wonderful friend, and a loving mother and wife. Gail was preceded in death by her loving father Anthony Santilli. Survivors include her two daughters Hannah Naomi Gruver-Green (Craig Green), Elle Gemma Gruver, husband Dane Gruver, mother Mary Santilli of Canfield, Ohio, and her two brothers Howard and Mark Santilli. A loving celebration of Gail’s life will be held on Friday, December 9th at 4:00 pm at Federated Community Church, 400 W. Aspen Avenue. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66. In Lieu of Flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Safe Child Center at Flagstaff Medical Center or The Olivia White Hospice Home in Flagstaff.
