Anne Basarab
Anne P. Basarab, 70, died Jan. 28, 1994 at her residence in Spring Valley. She was born March 17, 1923, in New York City, N.Y. to Joseph and Sophie (Fylyma) Basarab.
Mrs. Basarab worked as a sectional head for the Bank of New York for twenty-five years before retiring in 1978. She moved to Phoenix after her retirement and to Spring Valley 12 years ago. While living in Spring Valley, she worked at the Hub Café in Cordes Junction. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She devoted volunteer time to the St. Vincent DePaul Society and was a Rosarian. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose organization.
She is survived by her brother, Nick Basarab, of Phoenix.
Visitation and a vigil prayer service were conducted Monday, Jan. 31. A rosary was recited at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mayer. Mass of Christian Burial was also celebrated today, with the Rev. Michael Shay, S.D.S. as officiant.
The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Sunrise Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
