He served 13 years in the U.S. Army as an airborne instructor with the 82nd Airborne Division and was an artillery officer in Japan, Germany, Korea and Vietnam ('65-'66). While in Germany, he met and married Brownie Jean Alford of Lake Charles, La. Frank had achieved the rank of captain when he left the military in 1966 was always proud he had served his country. Frank and his family moved to Scottsdale, Ariz., living there for 27 years. He was employed in the pharmaceutical industry for that length of time, and he considered it fun and educational.
Frank thoroughly enjoyed all sports and had ASU football season tickets for 28 years. His enthusiasm for the D-Backs was a breath of fresh air.
He retired to Prescott, Ariz., full-time in 1994 and thoroughly enjoyed the wildlife that would cross his property, as well as the large trees and boulders the area offered. His enthusiasm for bass fishing was only surpassed by his love of travel. He especially enjoyed traveling in this country and had visited all 50 states.
Frank was noted for his friendly smile and warm hello. His quick-witted humor, with a touch of sarcasm, was enjoyed by friends and business associates alike. His sincerity and generosity in helping the less fortunate was a reflection of his family upbringing.
