Loren Purnell, 88, of Sun City, Ariz., born Jan. 25, 1923, in Springfield, Ill., died June 23, 2011. 

Interment will be 1 p.m. Jan. 3, 2012, at the V.A. National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix with full U.S. Navy honors.
