Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Tuesday, December 6, 2011 - W. Dean Alley, 86, passed away peacefully the afternoon of December 3, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was born in Springfield, Missouri to Noah Cecil and Elsie Jane Fesperman on Sept. 06, 1924. She was a resident of Lake Havasu City for two years. She was diagnosed with lung cancer just three short months ago. She married her husband Everett Marvin Alley on June 27, 1942. Dean will forever be remembered as a devoted wife and mother and grandmother. She enjoyed good health most of her 87 years. She had a passion for reading and read thousands of books in her lifetime. Having provided a foundation for her family, her legacy will live on through the traditions she fostered. After moving to Lake Havasu City, she enjoyed playing cards and bingo with friends and spending time with family and her rescue cat Lucy. She is survived by her children Marilyn Deane Bess and her husband Bill of Lake Havasu City; Susan Lynn Riley and her husband George of Des Moines, Iowa; Michael Steven Alley and his wife Debbie of Mill Valley, Calif. and Brian Lee Alley and his wife Kerry of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; grandchildren Lori Young, Craig Bess, Michelle and Angella Kerr, Garrett Davis, Alexa, Brendan, Cooper and Justin Alley; great grandchildren Alex Kerr, Cassidy and Dakota Young and Alyse Simas. Dean was preceded in death by her husband and parents, her sister Ruby Darlene Platz and her daughter Carol Jean Alley. Services will be at a later date in Denver, Colo.
