Harold Raymond Emmons, known as Jerry, passed away Dec. 5, 2011 at his residence in Prestige Assisted Living in Lake Havasu City at the age of 89. He was born June 10, 1922, in Milo, Iowa, to Clarence and Gladys Emmons.
After graduating from high school, Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served four years. Jerry was a nose gunner in the 15th Army Air Corps bomb group based in Cerignola, Italy. The 15th’s overall mission was to cripple the enemy’s transportation system. He was on the Hell’s Belle, a B-24 Liberator upon which he flew 50 missions. He was honorably discharged on Sept. 11, 1945, at age 23.
After the war, Jerry married Florence Attwood and had three daughters. They settled in Long Beach, Calif. Jerry worked for 30 years as a surveyor for the city of Long Beach before retiring. He volunteered his time with Civil Air Patrol and rescue. He loved flying and had his own plane and flew as often as he could. He had many talents and was a man of many trades. He was always the life of a party, a good dancer, and loved people.
Jerry is survived by his daughters of his first marriage, Coral Gamble, Cheryl Richard and Tanya Ste. Marie. Jerry is also survived by his second wife’s four children, Robert Storey, Debra Lund, Donna Compton and Suzanne Reed. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Gladys Emmons; sister, June Emmons; and his first wife, Florence Emmons, of 25 years; and second wife, Marline Emmons, of 23 years.

Interment was pre-arranged through the Neptune Society.
