Carl William Frakes passed away Dec. 7, 2011 in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 81. He was born in Falls City, Neb., July 7, 1930. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Frakes; mother, Della Mae Dillman; and sister, Donna Jean Cutler.
Carl and Mary Ann were married for 41 years and have resided in Lake Havasu for 14 years. Carl retired from Peterbilt Trucks in Pico Riveria , Calif., in 1996. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was an active member in the Eagles No. 4299. He held the role of Chaplain from 2001–2010, writing his own prayers and speeches for special events and Celebrations of Life. Carl was then honored to hold the position of Vice President from 2010–2011.
Carl leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary Ann; children, Annette (Joe) Surants, of St Clair Shores, Mich., Carleen Spidell, of Nebraska City, Neb., Mike Frakes, of Nebraska City, Renee (Thomas) Potter, of Lincoln, Neb.; stepchildren, Kenneth (Rosie) Gray, of Standish, Maine, Judy (Jack) Fraser, of Rock Hill, S.C., Charles Gray, of Monrovia, Calif., and David (Jean) Gray, of Hollis, Maine; brothers, Tom (Susan) Dillman, of Clearwater, Fla., Roger (Judy) Frakes, of Omaha, Neb., and Bill Frakes, of Omaha; stepmother, Helen Frakes, of Omaha; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
