Pauline was born in the family home in Armory Park on October 16, 1906, to Stanley John and Ethel Tompkins Kitt. In 1910, at the age of three, Pauline spent her first summer on Mt. Lemmon with her family, camping in the Bear Wallow area. In those days, traveling up the mountain was an all-day excursion via mule train that began in Sabino Canyon. The next year, they established "Kamp Kitt" in Soldier Camp, first building a platform tent and eventually, a cabin. Pauline spent at least part of every summer on the mountain, until 1996, traveling up the Control Road with her husband and children and later, the Catalina Highway with grandchildren.
A 1924 graduate of Tucson High, she was an avid horseback rider and active in the girls' athletic program, serving as captain of the tennis and basketball teams in her senior year. She graduated from the University of Arizona in 1928 with a B.A. in English and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Pauline donated countless volunteer hours, active in the Junior League, The Board of Visitors of St. Luke's Phoenix and the Board of Visitors, St. Luke's Tucson and served as a "Gray Lady" in the Red Cross during WWII.
In their golden years, Pauline and Norman were avid world travelers.

"Kamp Kitt" survived the Bullock and Aspen Fires. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mt. Lemmon Fire Department to help with the purchase of the new fire truck or your favorite charity.
