Margaret Terzian Lang, the daughter of Nishan Terzian and Araxie Kazarosian passed from this life to the next on Feb. 3, 2004 in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was born in Fresno, California July 29, 1920 to parents who emigrated from Armenia. In Monroe, Louisiana she married Josh Lang on November 29, 1942. After living in several parts of the country, then French Morocco and Spain where her husband was stationed, her family settled in Scottsdale in 1959 where she became very active promoting the arts and began developing her art career. Margo initially studied art at Fresno State University specializing in fashion design and interior decorating. Later she studied several art media at Stanford University, the Prado Museum in Spain, and Arizona State University, as well as with many renowned artists. After specializing in watercolor, she became one of the first artists to have paintings selected for the Arts in Embassies program in 1964. Margo has had many one-woman shows around the world, including the prestigious Hammer Galleries in New York City, the Corcoran Museum in Washington, D.C., Brussels, Belgium. Guadalajara and the final voyage of the S. S. France. She has been invited to the White House and State Department events through the last 4 administrations. Her biography is currently on file in the National Archives of the Museum of American Art and in the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. She was a member of the National Society of Arts and Letters, the English Speaking Union, Friends of Mexican Art, and the Arizona Watercolor Association. Margo is predeceased by her 3 brothers: George, Roger, and Harold Terzian. She is survived by her husband, Lt. Col. Josh M. Lang (Ret.), sons Timothy Lang and Roger Lang, daughter, Sandra Carr, grandchildren Leisl Carr, Brian Carr, Debbie Carr, Matthew Lang, and Nathan Lang, and great grandchild Xyla Abigail Carr. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends but she leaves behind a rich legacy in the world of fine art. A celebration of her life was held at the Valley Presbyterian Church 6947 E. McDonald Drive, Scottsdale, AZ. Visitation was at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd., Scottsdale, AZ.
