MCCORMICK, Joel (J.P.)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, February 6, 2007 Joel (J.P.) McCormick died February 2, 2007 in Phoenix. He was born July 10, 1978, in Valencia, Calif., the son of Patrick J. and Venita Louise. Joel was 28 years old. Joel and his family moved to Prescott in 1995. He graduated from Yavapai College and from DeVry University with a BS in computer engineering. He was working for Inter-West Group. Joel loved being outdoors, be it snowboarding, running, biking, quading or simply sitting by the ocean. Joel is survived by his daughter, Gabrielle Celeste of Phoenix; his mother, Venita McCormick of Castaic, Calif.; father Patrick and step-mother Nellie of Prescott; sister, Christina of Prescott; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A Celebration of Joel's life will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 6 at First Baptist's Solid Rock Chapel, corner of Marina and Union streets. The family suggests memorials to a trust fund for Gabrielle, set up at Compass Bank, 923 E. Gurley St., Prescott, Ariz. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
