The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, February 17, 2007 Marion M. Schrum died February 3, 2007 at Arizona Heart Hospital in Phoenix. She was born in Bryant, Iowa, on February 1, 1924, the daughter of William and Agnes (Mattheisen) Schrum. Marion was 83 years old. Marion received a scholarship from Mount St. Clare Junior College in Clinton and her Bachelor's degree from St. Louis University, after which she began her teaching obligation at Mercy Hospital in Burlington, Iowa. She continued her education with a Masters from Catholic University of America in Washington, D. C., in nursing school administration and her Ed.D from Stanford. She retired as the Academic Dean of Nursing from the University of Nevada, Reno; prior to that she had been at both Villanova College of Nursing and San Francisco State and Department Chair at the University of Wyoming and Dean of Nursing. Marion moved to Prescott in 1990 and was a very faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is survived by her nephew, Michael Schrum and niece, Patricia Schrum Dick and her nephew Stephen's wife, Katleen Schrum; seven grand-nephews, many friends; and her beloved Henry. A Funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 13, at Sacred Heart Catholic church, 150 Fleury Avenue, in Prescott, with burial in the family plot at Clinton, Iowa, on February 16.
