Fern Irene Lyons, 76, of Mesa, AZ., formerly of Buckner, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at her residence. The family greeted friends at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, MO, followed by a graveside service at Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Contributions to RTA Hospice & Palliative Care, 1102 E. McDowell, Phoenix, AZ 85006. Fern was born December 22, 1927 in Muskogee, OK to James O. and Rhua A. (Powell) Marsh. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and stained glass. She is survived by her husband Fred Lyons, 3 daughters, Judy Nagel of Lake Mary FL, Linda J. Bowen of Independence, MO and Louise Lyons of Prairie Village, KS; a brother, James W. Marsh of Prairie Village, KS; 5 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren. Arrangements by Speaks Suburban Chapel. Published in the Arizona Republic on 2/6/2004.
