MATONE, Joseph W.

Joseph W. Matone passed away February 5th 2004 in Sun City, AZ. Mr. Matone was born on June 29th 1921. Mr. Matone is survived by his wife of 59 years Mildred (Krauth) Matone. Four children Carolyn Robison, of Highland, IN., Bill (Judy) Matone of Charlotte, N.C., Bev (Doug) Kilgore of Phoenix, AZ. and Patsy (Jeff) Schroeder of Griffith, IN. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a brother Robert (Catherine) Matone of Wheaton, IL., Sister Helen (Duffy) Bass of Normal, IL. Mr. Matone retired from E. I. Dupont in 1981 after 41 years of service. He was a member of the Dupont 25 year club. He and his wife Millie retired to Sun City, AZ. in 1981. He was a committee Chair person in the SunMacs computer club. Joe was an avid golfer and had 4 holes in one after his retirement. On November 12, 2003 he shot his age. A memorial service was held at Lakeview United Methodist Church in Sun City, AZ. Donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc. in his name. Arrangements have been entrusted to Advantage Maryvale Mortuary 6901 W. Indian School Rd. Phoenix, AZ. Published in the Arizona Republic on 2/7/2004.
