HESS, Elmer D.

Elmer D. Hess, 76, of Forest Lakes, Az. departed this life on February 04, 2004. Elmer was born on October 25, 1927 in Phoenix, Az. 

Elmer served in the U.S. Navy and after completion of his tour, he joined the Phoenix Department as a Firefighter in 1951. Following a very distinguished career, he retired as Assistant Fire Chief in 1982 after 30 years of Service. Elmer was an energetic man who will be missed by his family and friends. 

After 55 years of marriage, he leaves behind his living wife, Vi, two sons, David and Donald and daughter, Laura Teague, three grandsons Christopher, Ryan and Brandon and granddaughter Stephanie. He also leaves behind three brothers Don, Howard and Bill and a sister May Kope. 

Memorial Services were held on Tuesday February 10, 2004 at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Rd., Phoenix, AZ. A reception was held immediately following services at the Mountain Preserve Reception Center at 1431 E. Dunlap, Phoenix, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Phoenix Firefighter's Association of the American Diabetes Association.
