The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 12/16/2011 Bennie C. Mellon, 82, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, in Concho Valley. She was born Sept. 23, 1929 in Casa Grande. Bennie was the co-owner of Mellon Farms and SOG Shop for 20 years. She was active in bowling, golf, Sweet Adelines and ZONTA. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and with her dogs, Conner and Katie. Bennie is survived by her sons: Gary (Colleen) Boone and Wayne Mellon; a daughter, Terri (Jimmy) Olive; stepsons: Greg and Doug (Pam) Mellon as well as 20 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Maude Boone; husband Archie Mellon; great-grandson Robert Nelson; and stepson David Mellon. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Johnson Mortuary. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Johnson Mortuary. Her final resting place will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Brian Boone, Pepper Mellon, Casey Olive, Colin Mellon, Neil Mellon and Joel Mellon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Boone, Wayne Mellon, Jimmy Olive, Doug Mellon, Greg Mellon and James Roberson.
