He belonged to the Antelope Hills Men's Golf Association and the Antelope Hills Home Owners Association.
He had been a successful jockey when he was younger and had ridden at many prominent eastern tracks including Suffolk Downs and Hialeah. He rode in competition with many top jockeys, including Eddie Arcaro, until he was about 23.
Reynolds was 44 years old and lived here with his wife and family.
Reynolds friends have established the J.C. Reynolds Civitan Memorial Fund in his name. Contributions may be sent to the Valley National Bank.
