CLARK,
Dorothy
(Maiden Name: Freethy)
Dorothy Freethy Clark passed away peacefully June 13, 2007. She will be missed terribly by her children, grandchildren and her many dear friends.
Dorothy lived all of her 82 years in Phoenix. Her mother, Ruth Freethy, owned the first dance studio in Phoenix and Dorothy was a beautiful dancer and dance teacher.
She married her high school sweetheart from North Phoenix High School, Larry Clark, who passed away January 2006. They were married for 61 years. Besides dancing, Dorothy loved to play golf and she was very involved in ladies golf at Arizona Country Club. She and Larry traveled the world with friends and played golf everywhere they went. Their favorite destination was Scotland and they were lucky enough to go there numerous times. For years, she and her friends scored for the Phoenix Open.
She always had dogs, but she truly loved her last dog Bandit. Dorothy enjoyed gardening and she especially loved roses. She loved her candy-apple red Lincoln Mark VIII with it's hot engine. She was an avid Diamondbacks fan and she especially enjoyed going to the games with Scott these last few years. One of her favorite things was attending the ASU basketball games and sitting right behind the ASU bench-front row!
St. Stephens was an important part of her life.
Most of all she loved her family. She is survived by her two children and their families: her son Scott Clark, his wife Laurie and their five children-Christy, Katie, Colin, Kelsey and Carly and Tina Liem, her husband Hank and their two daughters-Whitney and Chelsea.
A memorial service was held at St Stephens Episcopal Church on Monday, June 18, 2007, 2310 N 56th Street, Phoenix, AZ, 85008. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Clark Memorial Fund at St. Stephens Episcopal Church.
