HITE, Vera

Vera Plemons Hite, age 87 went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 6, 2004. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama on July 9, 1916, to John and Emma Plemons, the sixth of seven children. In 1938 she moved to Memphis, Tennessee where she attended beauty college and became a hairdresser. On August 17, 1940, she married Orille Amos Hite. They resided in Memphis until 1959 when they moved to Phoenix, AZ. Mrs. Hite was preceded in death by her husband, Orille, on April 25, 2003. She is survived by a daughter, Ellie Dillon and her husband Gary, son, J.R. and his wife, Jain, grandson Jonathan, great-granddaughter Mykala, granddaughter Heather Carlson (husband Ryan serving in Iraq), great-granddaughter Makayla, and great-grandson Caleb. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A private family service was held at Sunland Lakeside Chapel in Sun City. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name are requested to be given to the Susan Koman Breast Cancer Foundation at P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309, or Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
