Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Saturday, December 17, 2011 - Marie Barbara McGeo, 96, passed away Dec. 4, 2011 in Lake Havasu City. She was born on Feb. 2, 1915, in Chicago, Ill., to Joseph and Kathern Snyder. Marie moved to Lake Havasu City 3 years ago, coming from San Gabriel, Calif., where she resided for 50 years. She married her husband, Frank James McGeo II, in Chicago, in 1936. Marie was an award-winning artist and sculptor and a hostess at the Huntington Hospital in Los Angeles for many years. She was a member of the Los Angeles and California Art associations. Marie was a loving mother and grandparent who never failed to help others when asked. She will be deeply missed and always loved. Marie is survived by her son, Paul Denny McGeo, of Lake Havasu City; three grandchildren, Terri Marie (Chris) Guterrez, of Oak Hills, Calif., Scott Dennis (Lisa) McGeo, of Phillips Ranch, Calif., and Brian James McGeo, of Corona, Calif.; eight great-grandchildren, Tawnie Marie, Andrew Scott, Christopher Scott, Nicole Dawn, Miranda Hope, Inan Cade, Dylan Mathew and Taylor Nicole; three great-grandchildren, Ashia Lee, Elijha Avery and Noah Francis; nephew, Walter Dunne. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank James McGeo; brother, Joseph; and sister, Margaret. Services will be in San Gabriel, Calif., at a later date.
