Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona September 28, 1973 GROOM CREEK NATIVE, RUTH O. BORN DIES Mrs. Ruth O. Born, 78, who was born at Groom Creek, died Tuesday at Marcus Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Cottonwood. She had resided in Cottonwood since 1950 and in Arizona all of her life. She was a past president of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Post 7400 at Cottonwood and a member of the Verde Baptist Church there. Survivors include: her husband, Johnston Born, Cottonwood: a son, Jack W. Hayden of Orange, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Peggy Brown and Mrs. Ruth Converse, both of Yuma; a brother, Paul Major, Cottonwood: two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Fitzgerald and Mrs. Grace Boren, both of Prescott; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Verde Baptist Church in Cottonwood. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood.
