GARCIA, Salvador


West Valley View, Avondale, AZ Friday, December 06, 2011 Salvador Garcia Garcia, 92, of Avondale and Litchfield Park died Dec. 5, 2011, at Hospice of the Valley-Coronado Home in Phoenix. Mr. Garcia was born Nov. 9, 1919, in Miami, Ariz., to Salvador and Paula. He moved to Litchfield Park at an early age, where he lived and was raised by his aunt, Martinita. He was employed at the J.G. Boswell Cotton Mill. He later relocated to Avondale, where he found employment as a maintenance technician for Maricopa County until he reached his retirement. He was a member St. John Vianney Catholic Church, and was one of the founding builders of the church parish, where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Cursillos. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Esperanza; three daughters, Margie Morales, Brijida Villasana and Paula; one son, Salvador; one sister, Carmen Valdez Valdez; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. today at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 539 E. La Pasada Blvd. in Goodyear. A rosary recital will be at 10:30 a.m., and a funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. A committal service will be at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery in Avondale. The Rev. Paul Ybarra will officiate.
