MARTIN, Stephen

West Valley View, Avondale, AZ Tuesday, December 13, 2011 Stephen Martin, 61, of Buckeye died Dec., 10, 2011, at his home. Mr. Martin was born Aug. 28, 1950, in Buckeye to Ray and Verna Karstetter. He attended Buckeye Elementary and Buckeye Union High School. He was a longtime member of the Buckeye Elks Lodge. He owned and operated a welding shop and later an air conditioning company. He retired from Martin's Repair & Service late in 2004 because of esophageal cancer. His cancer returned in October 2010. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Debbie; three daughters, Melissa, Stephanie Russell and Melissa Bell; one son, Bradley; his mother, Verna; one sister, Becky Franks; three brothers, Dan, Kenny and Mike; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ganley's Buckeye Funeral Home, 104 Baseline Road in Buckeye. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Louis B. Hazelton Memorial Cemetery, 23100 W.
