BATES, Rose Mae

The Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, March 3, 1974 Rose Bates Rites Tomorrow Mrs. Rose M. Bates, 87, daughter of a pioneer Arizona family, died Monday at the Arizona Pioneers Home here. She was born July 11, 1886 at Whiteoaks, N.M. and came to Arizona at one year of age with her parents who settled at Yeager Canyon where they lived for about two years. She came to Prescott with her parents in 1890 where attended the public schools and resided here until her death. For the past 19 years, she had been a guest at the home. Survivors include; a daughter, Miss Mabel Bates of Walla Walla, Wash; two sons, Bill and Bob, both of Cornville; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Scholey of Phoenix; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services have been scheduled at Hampton Funeral Home at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 4 with the Rev. Russell Hughes officiating. Interment will be in the Arizona Pioneer Cemetery here.
