BRUCHMAN, Oscar William


The Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, April 15, 1974 Oscar Bruchman Rites Wednesday. A longtime former resident of Prescott, Oscar W. Bruchman, 95, died at San Lorenzo, Calif. Saturday. Born in London, England July 14, 1878, he came to this country at the early age and was raised and educated in Wisconsin. At the turn-of-the-century he came to Winslow to work with his brother and then moved to Prescott in 1905 where he was employed at the Ed Block Clothing store. He opened his own clothing store in 1915 on N. Cortez St. and remained in that business until 1941. He later worked as a dispatcher for the Prescott Police Department and Ruffner Funeral Home, moving to San Lorenzo in 1960 to make his home with his daughters. He was a member of the Prescott Elks Lodge No. 330 for more than 50 years. He is survived by his daughters, Mrs. Mary Louise Majeski, of Atherton, Calif. and Mrs. Barbara Strode of San Lorenzo, Calif. and a brother Richard of Winslow as well as nine grandchildren. Services for Mr. Bruchman will be held at Ruffner Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with interment following in the family plot at Mountain View Cemetery with the Elks Lodge conducting graveside services.
