The Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, April 28, 1974 Donald Whitney Donald T. Whitney, 70, died Thursday evening at his home, 1420 Quarry Lane, after a lingering illness. Mr. Whitney was born in Boyne City, Mic on July 17, 1903h. And move to Prescott two years ago from Adrian, Mich., where he taught in the Adrian Public School from 1929 until he retired in 1966. Mr. Whitney graduated from Central Michigan University with his teaching degree, and earned his Masters from the University of Minnesota. He was a member and past Exalted Ruler of the B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 429 in Adrian. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Prescott. Survivors include his widow, Doris, of Prescott; a daughter, Mrs. Rita Garland, of Adrian, Mich.; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Eloise Scovotts, of Elfers, Fla. Mr. Whitney was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Good, in 1967 Funeral services will be held at the American Lutheran Church, S. Arizona Ave., at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 29, with Pastor Bruce Ayers officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Memory Chapel.
