The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, February 4, 2007 Anna Smisko, 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at her home in Prescott. She relocated to Prescott from Michigan in 1976. Anna was born Sept. 30, 1916, in Brownsville, Pa., to John and Mary Zapotocky. As an extremely loving, wise and generous individual, and devalued her family and friends above all else. Her favorite pastime was painting portraits, still lives and animals. Anna was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, John Smisko; their daughter, Catherine; one brother and three sisters. Anna is survived by her three brothers, John Zapotocky of Hawaii and Michael and Andrew Zapotoky of Pennsylvania; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Valentina Smisko of Prescott; and two granddaughters, Diana Misner of Illinois and Stephanie Smisko of Prescott. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Anna's name to Hospice Family Care, 100 E. Sheldon St., Suite 100, Prescott, Ariz., 86301.
