Norman Clayton Herrington was born July 17, 1926 in Ogden, Utah. He passed away on February 1, 2007, due to a short battle with cancer.
He spent his childhood in Utah and moved to Arizona in 1968, and spent the last 14 years and Prescott Valley. He spent most of his life enjoying hunting, fishing, gardening and bowling. But he also enjoyed his grandchildren who called him Grandpa Honey.
Norman was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since 1935. He also served his country in World War II as a seaman in the Navy.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ida Virginia Herrington; brothers, Greg, Junior and Don; sisters, Lucille Herrington, Nancy Herrington Nicholos and Patsy Rae Herrington; children, Sandra Herrington, Brad Herrington, Gregory Herrington; and his first wife of 14 years, Betty Irene Tribe Herrington.
Normal is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jayne Harrington; sisters, Betty Lou Herrington Robertson and Louise Herrington Sangberg; sons Mark (Nona), Kevin (Jeanette), Kory (Terri) and Rodney (Alena) Herrington; daughters, Suzanne, Jodi (Doug) Herrington Champagne, Kim (Kenny) Harrington Burke; grandchildren, Ryan, Raen, Sierra, Tanner, Samantha, Amber, Matthew, Cara, Lisa, Leslie, Callie, Tawny, Dena, Lela, Melissa, Stephanie, Christopher, Chad, Jonathan, Justin, Amanda, Abigail, Ben and Nick; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
His family and friends will miss Norman very much and whose spirit will be felt among us for ever.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 9, 2007, at 2 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7885 E. Long Look Dr., Prescott Valley, Arizona.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, February 8, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sunrise Funeral Home, 8167 E. Hwy. 69, Prescott Valley, Arizona. There is also a viewing on Friday, at 1 p.m. at the church before services.
Interment will be at 3 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Park, 12000 E. Heritage Lane, in Dewey, Arizona.
