BERNDT, SR., Robert E.

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, November 30, 2006 Robert E. Berndt, Sr., 85, passed away peacefully at the VA Hospice in Prescott, Tuesday, November 28, 2006. He was born in Valparaiso, Ind., to Arthur and Elma (Curtis) Berndt. Robert served his country during World War II in the US Air Force. Robert loved farming and also enjoyed his position with Bank of Indiana. During retirement, he was a volunteer with Stepping Stones. Robert was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Robert with a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Iris, of 59 years; sons Robert, of Prescott Valley, and Paul and daughter-in-law, Wendy, of Prescott; daughter, Andrea and son-in-law, Dennis Hunsberger; and granddaughters, Megan and Kriste of Ventura, Calif. Commemoration services in honor of Robert will be Saturday, December 2, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3950 N. Valorie Drive, Prescott Valley, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial is in Robert's memory be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 3950 N. Valorie Dr., Prescott Valley, Arizona or VA Hospice, 500 N.
