Dorothy M. Nessett, 75, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, November 26, 2006. Dorothy was born in Mapleton, Minn., on March 27, 1931.
She was married in 1951 to the love of her life, Arden and they had five children over 12 years.
Dorothy, Arden and family moved around the Midwest pursuing Arden's career as an air traffic controller while Dorothy enjoyed being at home raising their family.
In 1994, they moved from Longmont, Colorado, to Prescott, Ariz., where they enjoyed living until Arden's death in 2001. Dorothy moved to Phoenix in 2004 to be closer to her family, where she happily resided until her death.
Dorothy will be fondly remembered for her unconditional love of family and friends. She had a deep spiritual faith in God and garnered much strength in her life because of it. She touched the lives of all who knew her and with her sense of style, warm heart and sense of humor. Dorothy truly was a friend to everyone.
Her parents, her husband, and her youngest daughter Stacy preceded her in death.
Dorothy is survived by her four children, Karen (Gilbert) Dawson, Mark (Jeanette) Nessett, Kelly (Dennis) Schest, Steve (Jennifer) Nessett; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Margaret (William) Lackey and Kathryn (Milton) Smith; her brother, Francis (Marie) Hall; several cousins in many many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 5:30 p.m., With a Rosary at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 1, at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Rd. A memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3801 E. Greenway Rd., Phoenix, Ariz.
