STOREY, Gloria

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, November 28, 2006 Gloria Storey, 81 died November 25, 2006 in Prescott Valley, Arizona. She was born May 7, 1925, in Manhattan, Kan., to Max and Rena Givens. She spent her childhood with her sisters, Maxine Dendurent and Harriet Magurie growing up in Manhattan. It was during those years she became a Christian and her faith was always the source of her strength. Gloria married her childhood sweetheart, Dean Storey, and they spent 44 years together until his death in 1989. They had two children, Stephen and Stephanie. Gloria spent most of her life as a wife and mother but in 1964, she won a beauty pageant and became Mrs. Kansas, going on to be one of the 10 finalist in the National Mrs. America competition. Gloria moved to Prescott Arizona, in 1995 to be close to her family. She is survived by her son, Stephen Storey and wife Jackie of Chandler, Arizona; daughter Stephanie Thompson and husband Ron of Prescott, Arizona; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren all of Arizona.
