The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, November 22, 2006 Madge Brown Sewell, 99 years young, passed away on October 5, 2006, after a short illness. Born in Smyrna Mills, Maine, daughter of Rollen and Isadore Brown. Madge was a graduate of Farmington State Normal School, class of 1926. She taught for 38 years in rural schools in the state of Maine. A longtime member of Smyrna Methodist Church, Madge married Kenneth Randolph Sewell on August 18, 1929 and had one son, Gilbert. In 1981, then a widow, Madge moved to Prescott to be closer to her son, who passed away in 1995. Madge is lovingly remembered by a large family, including her sister, Gladys Cotta; daughter-in-law Phyllis, both of Prescott; neices Carole Clark of Presque Isle, Maine, Marilyn Langley of Stockholm, Maine and Sandra Culbertson of Norristown, Pa.; Grandchildren, Rebecca Brown, Kathleen Pate and Kenneth Sewwll; great-grandchildren, Sabra Rios, Benjamin Pate, Sarah Pate, Sam Brown, Gabriella Sewell and Calvin Sewell; and a great-great-grandchildren, Andrew and Bella Rios. A memorial service for Madge will be on November 24 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 630 Park Ave. in Prescott. Information provided by survivors.
