Bob Williams Dies Here
Robert M. Williams, 72, a Certified Public Accountant and a long active in community and civic affairs died Tuesday, May 14 at Yavapai Community Hospital here.
At the time of his death he was a member of the Arizona State Fair and Coliseum Board of Directors.
Mr. Williams had been a prominent figure on the Prescott scene for the past 35 years.
He was a member of the Smoki People of Prescott, former chief and also had served several years as treasurer.
He held membership in the Prescott Elks Lodge No. 330, was past president and longtime member of the Prescott Rotary Club, Antelope Hills Men's Club, and St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, he had served as president of the state chapter as well as being a member of the board of directors of the national organization.
Mr. Williams is survived by his widow, Lucille; a son, Robert T, both of Prescott; two daughters; Mrs. Marjorie Vaughn of Phoenix and Mrs. Colleen Burney of Menlo Park, Calif.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18 with burial following in the family plot at Mountain View Cemetery.
Friends may call at Ruffner funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
