Mrs. Alva Q. Balinger, 74, died Saturday at her home, at 336 Lindbergh Dr., Prescott she was born February 6, 1900 at Cushing, Okla., and had been a resident of Arizona for the past 54 years and of Prescott for the past 29 years.
She and her husband Forrest, arrived in the state in 1923 and Yuma. They were associated with E. F. Sangunette and the Texaco Bulk Wholesale Plant.
The Balinger's move to Prescott in 1945. The couple began operation of the Prescott Motor Inn, Balinger Market and the Balinger Real Estate office.
Mrs. Ba was a member oflinger Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had been active in the Girl Scouts and Girl Scout Camp, also she had been active in the Prescott public schools and Chamber of Commerce.
She is survived by her husband, Forrest F. of Prescott; a son, Forrest, Jr., also Prescott; a brother, Arthur Alspaw of Farmington, N.M.; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Newman and Mrs. Ruby Green, both of Oklahoma City, Okla; one grandson and one great-grandson.
Rosary services will be held at Hampton Funeral Home at 7:30 p.m., Thursday. Mass of the day Of Resurrection will be held at Sacred Heart Church here at 10 a.m., Friday.
Pallbearers will be: Victor Lytel, Blaine Bowman, III, Ray Lamson; Jerry Walker and William Fundom.
The family suggests donations to the Heart Fund In Lieu of flowers.
