The Press-Enterprise, Riverside, California Saturday, October 14, 2000 Avalyn H. Arnold, 88, died Thursday of complications of aging at her home in Prescott, Ariz. Services will be private. Inurnment will be private. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott is handling arrangements. Mrs. Arnold, who was born in Fort Worth, Texas, lived in Hemet 30 years before moving to Prescott in 1997. She was a homemaker. She was an active member of Colonial Dames, Daughters of the American Revolution and the auxiliary at the hospital. She was a landscape, floral still life and portrait artist. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. Mrs. Arnold is survived by two daughters, Chery Walcher of Prescott and Arlis Baird of Pinetop, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Alonzo Whyte of Flagstaff, Ariz., Clarence Whyte of Spring Valley; George Whyte of La Mesa; and Louie Whyte of Palomar Mountain.
