Born in Watertown, he lived in Watertown and Syracuse before moving to Arizona. He owned and operated several businesses in Arizona. He was an Air Force veteran. A son, David J., died previously. Survivors: Two daughters, Catherine M. "Casey" Malone of Brewerton and Patricia M. Spicer of Virginia; four sons, Robert A. Jr. of Colorado, Richard M. and Joseph F., both of Syracuse, and Savario "Sammy" of Arizona; his mother, Helen Irene Spicer of Watertown; two sisters, Patricia Stabins and Caye Rich, both of Watertown; a brother, David J. of Watertown; nine grandchildren. Memorial services: In Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Watertown, at a time to be announced. No calling hours. Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown, has local arrangements.
