PHOENIX-- Marion John Evertsen, 83, died August 3, 2000 in Sun City, Arizona. He was born April 16, 1917 in Ogden, UT.
He was a dedicated member of the LDS church. Marion was a prominent Phoenix masonry contractor whose major projects included Grady Gammage Auditorium on the campus of Arizona State University,
St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Central High School, and the remodeling of the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple.
A loving husband and father, he is survived by Erdeen, his wife of 58 years; eight children, Mareen Robinson, Robert Alan, Suzanne Markgraff, James Deen, LeRoy Edward, Karen Wright, Kathryn Weiner, Earl Jay; three brothers, Eugene V., Vernon V., DeVon M.; one sister, Virginia Pratt; 23 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tues. Aug. 8, at the Phoenix West LDS Stake Center, corner of 18th Ave. and Earll Dr. in Phoenix, with visitation at the church, 9-10:45 a.m.
Burial will follow at Greenwood-Memory Lawn Cemetery.
