VERNAL-- Francis John Lenox, age 78, passed away Nov. 8, 2000 at the Ashley Valley Medical Center from a heart attack.
He was born January 5, 1922 in Prescott, Arizona, a son of Frank and Catherine Dailey Lenox. He married Frances Kingensmith, they later divorced.
Francis married Elaine Wright Farnsworth on October 5, 1978. Francis was a member of the St. James Catholic Church. He was a devoted Catholic. He was a Veteran of World War II, member of the American Legion and worked with the Red Cross. He worked for over 20 years at First Security Bank. He then started his own insurance business and ran it for over 17 years, he enjoyed his work.
Francis loved gardening, especially roses. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, golfing and fishing in his early years. He especially loved to dance.
He is survived by wife, Elaine of Vernal; daughter, Elaine (Jim) Jones of Colorado; granddaughter Michelle (Joey) Valdez of Longmont, Colorado; four stepchildren, Farrell (Jolene) Farnsworth of Duchesne; Gordon Farnsworth of Riverton, Utah; Cindy (Kelly) Cowan of Duchesne; Sandra (Franco) Wissa of Centerville, Utah; 11 step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; sister Sarah Myers of Vernal.
Funeral mass will be held Saturday, November 11, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the St James Catholic Church. Friends may call for visitation Friday from 6-7 with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at the St. James Catholic Church and may call one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion.
