The Post-Standard, Syracuse, New York Friday, November 17, 2000, page C4 Verne F. Tucker, 84, of Sun City, Ariz., died Nov. 4 in Arizona. He was born in Jordan. He founded the former Recreation Inn, now the Fireside Inn in Baldwinsville, and owned and operated the Bird's Nest Motel and Skan-Ellus Drive-In in Skaneateles. He moved to Florida in 1969 and to Arizona in 1987. He was a life member of the Masonic Order and the Lions Club. Survivors: His wife, Eleanor; two daughters, Carol Fitzgerald of Prescott, Ariz., and Diane Terry of Peoria, Ariz.; two sons, Kenneth of Carefree, Ariz., and Douglas of Coral Springs, Fla.; a sister, Ruth Sloan of Cape Vincent; a brother, Bill of Zephyrhills, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
