San Pedro Valley News-Sun, Benson, Arizona Wednesday, July 12, 2000 1921-2000 Jacquie Ann Hollifield, of West Covina, Calif., died on July 3, 2000, in Covina, Calif., at the age of 79. She was born on April 22, 1921, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., to Wilber and Mary (Waterman) Ables. Mrs. Hollifield lived in Willcox from 1956 until 1959, during that time, she and her husband, Grady, owned the Arizona Range News. She was a former preschool teacher in Prescott and spent her retirement years in Prescott, Skull Valley and Safford. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Safford. On May 11, 1940, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., she married Grady Hollifield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady, on July 7, 1992. She is survived by two daughters, Deanna L. Cronin of West Covina, Calif. and Melanie Lee Sakall of Tucson; sister, Delores Peppler of Columbia City, Ind.; brother, Stanley Ables of Albuquerque, N.M.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held on July 8, 2000 at Sunset Cemetery in Willcox. Services under the direction of Westlawn Chapel & Mortuary in Willcox.
