William D. Coen, 84, of Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of Neoga, died Wednesday (March 29, 2000) in his home.
Services will be at a later date.
Arrangements are by Melcher's Mission Chapel, Mesa, Ariz. Memorials: Arizona Lung Association, 102 W. McDowell Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85003.
Mr. Coen was born in Neoga on Jan. 9, 1916, the son of Stanley and Lilia Coen. He was operating engineer for USI Chemical Plant, Tuscola, for 23 1/2 years, was a longtime member of the Neoga School Board and a member of Operating Engineers Union.
He lived in Neoga until 1980 when he retired and moved to Prescott, Ariz. He moved back to Illinois in 1992 and lived for five years in Effingham. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving 3 1/2 years.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth; daughters, Kathleen Wright and Tracy Stewart, both of Vandalia; sons, James Coen of Neoga; Douglas, Daniel, Timothy and Michael, all of Mesa; brother, Robert Coen of Neoga; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
