David Paul McClendon, age 69, born in Harristown, Illinois, passed away October 28, 2006. He was a resident of Prescott, Arizona.
David was the youngest child of Paul Sanders McClendon and Mildred Louise Leonard.
David graduated from Purdue University Division of Aviation Technology and work for Purdue Aeronautics Corporation, Bonanza, Air West, Hughes Air West, Republic and Northwest Airlines. He also worked as an engineer with Pan Am World Services performing a study of the maintenance requirements on the Space Shuttle for NASA in 1984 and with America West Airlines as an Avionics Engineer. He retired to Prescott, Arizona in 1997 with his wife, Terry.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Terry; his sister JoAn (Don) Allen; three children, Stacey (Marvel) McClendon Garcia, Gerald (Tina) Paul McClendon and Brenda (Mark) Lee Herington; six grandchildren, LeAnne, Nachelle, Valerie, Jessica, Paul, and Lindsay; five great-grandchildren, Mayah, Tyler, Justin, Jordan and Ethan.
Preceding him and death are his parents, Paul and Louise McClendon; his first wife Judith Marie Nichols; and his brother Ralph McClendon.
David was a member in good standing of Prescott Elks Lodge # 330. His hobbies included planes, trains, automobiles, sailing, computers and time with his family.
Ruffner Wakelin funeral home in Prescott, Arizona, handled the cremation.
A private memorial service was on Monday, October 30, 2006, at the clubhouse of Prescott Canyon Estates.
